AVP, Head of Data & Analytics, Pet Insurance Join to apply for the AVP, Head of Data & Analytics, Pet Insurance role at MetLife Role Overview MetLife is seeking an experienced VP of Data and Analytics for its Pet Insurance product within the Group Benefits business. This role involves overseeing all Data & Analytics efforts for the pet insurance portfolio, leading a global team, and contributing to strategic initiatives to make MetLife the largest pet insurer in the country. Key Responsibilities Participate in strategic planning as a member of the Pet insurance leadership team, building partnerships across business and technology units. Lead cultural transformation towards a business-outcome-driven data team, developing training and redefining performance metrics. Execute the data and analytics roadmap aligned with business objectives. Enhance claims automation processes to improve auto-adjudication rates and processing speed. Modernize data infrastructure, including building a new data hub and improving reporting capabilities. Develop and deploy advanced data science solutions utilizing OCR, NLP, LLMs, and ontologies for animal health claims. Establish governance frameworks, data ownership, and community leadership for pet data domains. Manage a global team across multiple locations, fostering a cohesive culture and career development. Proactively identify data-driven solutions to support business growth and innovation. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field; B.S. with relevant experience acceptable. 15+ years in data analytics leadership, with 10+ years in pet, medical, or P&C insurance sectors. Expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and data science, including proficiency in Python and R. Experience with OCR, NLP, LLMs, ontologies, and data engineering tools like SQL. Proven leadership in analytics teams, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Location & Travel Based in Cary, NC; Bridgewater, NJ; or NYC with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office). Travel 10-20% for meetings and conferences.
