As a Developer Education Specialist, you will be in charge of making and delivering educational materials that help developers use our tools, platforms, and APIs successfully. You will work closely with the engineering, documentation, marketing, and community teams to make resources like tutorials, technical articles, webinars, videos, and example code. This job is remote, so you can work from anywhere and with people from all over the world.
Main Duties:
Content Creation: Create, design, and keep up high-quality educational materials like written guides, video courses, webinars, sample apps, and hands-on labs.
Community Engagement: Support, mentor, and get involved with developers by actively participating in forums, online communities, and social media.
Curriculum Development: Work with experts in the subject to figure out what students need to learn and create structured curricula for students at different skill levels.
Technical Accuracy: Make sure that all content is technically correct, current, easy to understand, and open to developers from all backgrounds.
Feedback and Improvement: Get feedback from students, look at it, make changes to educational materials, and help with efforts to keep things getting better.
Event Facilitation: Set up and run live or online workshops, hackathons, and Q&A sessions to get developers involved.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with the product, documentation, and marketing teams to make sure that education efforts are in line with the product roadmap and community projects.
Experience: at least 2 years in software development, developer advocacy, technical education, or a related field.
Technical Skills: You should know how to program in at least one language, like JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or Go, and be familiar with modern software development methods.
Communication: You can write and speak clearly, and you have made technical documents, tutorials, or videos before.
Teaching Ability: Proven ability to make difficult technical ideas easier to understand for a wide range of people.
Inclusivity: Showed a commitment to making learning spaces that are welcoming, easy to get to, and open to everyone.
Self-Starter: Good at organizing things and able to handle several projects at once with little help from others.
Collaboration: You've worked with teams from different departments in a remote or distributed setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with writing technical documents, working with developers, or creating curricula.
Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, open-source tools, or best practices for DevOps.
Experience with making videos, streaming live events, or using e-learning platforms.
You should be able to speak more than one language or have made resources for people who don't speak English.
