Description: The Gund Company is looking for an entry level Technical Sales Engineer professional who thrives on building relationships!

Starting annual base salary: $75,000+ with unlimited commissions!

Travel: 25% (5 days/Month)

Work Location : 200 Wallins Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010

Markets: Electronics, Switchgear, Aerospace, Metals, Motor, Transformers

Territory: Northeast, USA

Types of Accounts : $3-7 million medium/large accounts ( total of 100-150 accounts)

Sales Engineering Development Program: 6-month rotation with assigned Mentors

Job Summary Technical Sales Engineer

The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for the proactive development of customer relationships and sales generation by understanding and maximizing customer and prospective product and service requirements. The Technical Sales Engineer manages the order acquisition process for assigned customers while pursuing opportunities for expanded sales volume, delivering consultative technical solutions.

Job Duties Technical Sales Engineer

  • Build relationships with TGC’s customer base to fully understand the customers' requirements, communicate them to our production team, and determine our opportunities to earn additional business.
  • Assume ownership for customer relationship and sales development at specific accounts including conducting customer sales visits to identify and obtain additional business opportunities resulting in profitable sales.
  • Function as technical subject matter expert regarding customer applications by effectively communicating how our products and services can best satisfy their requirements.
  • Identify new prospective applications for our products by understanding customer requirements and our product capabilities.
  • Assist with management of external Manufacturer’s Rep Firms, to complement selling efforts in assigned territory.
  • Heavy customer/prospect communication required via the telephone. Proactive Sales and Service Calls are a key part of the monthly job requirement.
  • Utilize the C ustomer R elationship M anagement (CRM) software tool to develop, document and follow up on customer opportunities in a consistent and disciplined manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Requirements Technical Sales Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Technical Degree.
  • 1-3 years’ experience as a sales engineer, applications engineer, or inside sales.
  • English oral/written .

Preferred Experience

  • Strong and extrovert ed interpersonal communication skills to maximize customer interactions.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to identify and implement strategies that create competitive advantage in the market.
  • Ability to use a CRM platform and other tools to manage the sales process.
  • Excellent computer skills.
