Join to apply for the PHYSICIAN LIAISON role at AHMC HealthCare . The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that appropriate authorization and reimbursement resources are in place for elective services provided. This includes: Verification of order received from physician and verification of insurance information provided. Accurate and timely determination of authorizations required. Validation that required authorizations are obtained and monitored for appropriateness of the procedure. Adherence to government and non-government program requirements. Effective communication with Scheduling and Patient Access regarding authorization/program requirements, personal payment liabilities, and options for care and placement, enabling informed decisions by patients and their families while protecting the financial interests of Seton Medical Center. Providing information to Scheduling and Patient Access when authorizations are delayed or denied, and rescheduling procedures when no other options are available. Qualifications include demonstrated expertise in insurance authorization confirmation and follow-up, knowledge of Patient Access, Medical Records, and related departments, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AS400 applications, and database management. Ability to learn new software applications as needed is essential. Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with Commercial Insurance, Medi-Cal, and Medicare verification, pre-authorizations, and authorizations preferred.
