EPIC Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled PM&R Physician with Addiction Medicine experience to join our interdisciplinary medical team. The ideal candidate will specialize in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with physical impairments, chronic pain, and substance use disorders. This unique role integrates physical rehabilitation with addiction treatment strategies to restore function, enhance mobility, and address the complex needs of patients navigating both physical and substance-related health challenges.

Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with musculoskeletal, neurologic, functional impairments, and substance use disorders.
Develop and implement comprehensive, patient-centered rehabilitation and addiction treatment plans.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, behavioral health specialists, addiction counselors, and other providers to ensure integrated care.
Perform and interpret procedures such as EMGs, joint injections, ultrasound-guided injections, and appropriate medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for addiction.
Manage both acute and chronic pain using non-surgical, evidence-based approaches that minimize reliance on opioids.
Monitor progress in physical and addiction recovery, adjusting treatment plans based on patient response and goals.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, addiction treatment options, rehabilitation goals, and recovery strategies.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, addiction recovery planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
Optionally supervise advanced practice providers.
Other job duties as assigned.
Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Michigan.
DEA license.
Demonstrated experience in Addiction Medicine (formal training or clinical practice).
Experience managing substance use disorders and familiarity with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is highly preferred.
Fellowship training in pain medicine, sports medicine, spinal cord injury, brain injury, musculoskeletal medicine, or addiction medicine is a plus.
Proficiency in diagnostic procedures such as EMG/NCS.
Experience in inpatient rehab, outpatient clinics, addiction treatment programs, or interventional procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients in recovery.

Ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
